Knowledge, Networking & National Finals: A Look Back at the Aviva National Bowls Finals

The Aviva National Bowls Finals brought together the very best in bowls competition alongside valuable education for clubs, greenkeepers and enthusiasts. With free entry for spectators, the event offered a full day of sporting action and practical learning opportunities.

The morning began with the Middleton Cup and Top Club Semi Finals, where players delivered thrilling performances to secure their places in the afternoon finals.

Club Zone Seminars

Running alongside the action was the Club Zone, which once again proved to be a highlight of the day. Attendees gathered to hear from industry specialists, gaining practical tips to take back to their own clubs:

Green’s Maintenance During the Winter
Stuart Yarwood (DLF) shared essential advice on keeping greens healthy and resilient through the colder months.

Key Machinery Maintenance School
Adam Hart (Dennis & SISIS) delivered an engaging session on machinery care, helping clubs extend the life of their equipment and keep it performing at its best.

Grass Seed Selection
Stuart Yarwood (DLF) provided expert guidance on choosing the right seed mixes for consistent and high-quality surfaces.

At midday, a complimentary lunch gave visitors the chance to network, exchange experiences and continue discussions sparked by the seminars.

From 12:30 pm onwards, attention turned to the Middleton Cup & Top Club Finals, where bowlers competed at the very highest level, bringing the day to a fitting close.

Speaking after his seminar, Adam Hart of Dennis & SISIS reflected on the importance of supporting clubs:
“It was fantastic to see so many clubs take an interest in machinery care and maintenance,” said Adam Hart. “The right practices not only keep machines in top condition but also save clubs time and money. Events like this are vital for sharing knowledge and ensuring the sport continues to thrive. They also provide invaluable networking opportunities, giving greenkeepers the chance to spend the day together, exchange experiences and learn from each other.”

From world-class bowls to hands-on education, the Aviva National Bowls Finals offered something for everyone. Beyond the excitement of the competition, the event created a welcoming space for clubs, greenkeepers and industry specialists to connect, share ideas, and take away practical insights that will benefit the game long after the finals had ended.
