The competition is open to entrants from the UK aged 18 years or over at the time of entry, from the following categories:

  • Volunteer/recreational groundskeepers at local grassroots cricket clubs,
  • School groundskeepers, either head or assistant groundskeepers.

Howardson Group employees and associates are excluded from the draw, as are Head Groundskeepers for Clubs or County level, First-Class Major venues and Consultant Groundskeepers/Pitch Advisors.

By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you. The Promoter may require Participants to provide proof of their eligibility.
There is a limit of one entry per person and the competition is completely free to enter.

The Prize

The ‘Money Can’t Buy’ experience is for a single prize winner and guest to spend the day with the Edgbaston Head Groundskeeper and team preparing the stadium and training grounds prior to the England v India Test Match.

The prize winners experience will take place on Monday June 30th 2025. The prize winner is required to provide their own transportation to and from Edgbaston Stadium.

Accommodation will be provided to the prize winner and guest on Sunday June 29th 2025, the evening before the ‘Money Can’t Buy’ experience, to remove on-the-day travel disruption as a risk to enjoyment of the prize.

The date of the ‘Money Can’t Buy’ experience cannot be moved and by entering this competition you confirm that you are available to receive the prize experience exclusively on these dates. The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.

The winner of the ‘Money Can’t Buy’ prize will receive a tour of the facilities and overview of operations before assisting the grounds teams to prepare for a Test Match; including but not limited to prepping the nets, working on the outfield and pitch inspections. Throughout the day the winner will have opportunities to shadow and work with the Edgbaston grounds teams and gain insights into all aspects of their work.

We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.

Dennis Mowers’ decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Applying for the competition

Applications will only be eligible if they are received using the ‘Money Can’t Buy’ Application Form on the Dennis Mowers website, which can be found here.

Eligible applications to the competition will be classed as fully completed and compliant entries, received prior to the close of business on Friday June 13th 2025. Applications received after this time will be ineligible for entry.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

Winner Announcement

The winner will be chosen at random and notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) within 7 days of the closing date and must (where applicable) provide a postal or email address to claim their prize. Dennis Mowers will make three attempts to contact the winner via phone and/or email. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond, then the Winner’s prize will be forfeited, and Dennis Mowers will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
